Eric Ridgeway
has had a very successful career already, and it’s only getting better. Debuting alongside friend Kyle Andrews as part
of the Underground in 2008, Eric was immediately placed in a fatal four way match for the Hardcore Championship. He would
ultimately lose that match to Mike Kizzar, but quickly gained notoriety as a tag team with Andrews. The two won the tag team
championship in less than 3 months.
They would hold those titles until Game Over of 2009, when they finally lost the
titles to their rivals, Big D and T-Roc. However, both men decided to strike out on their own after singles gold. While his
partner Andrews fought Kevin Martin at Mind Games VI for the United States Championship, Ridgeway went back to the man who
defeated him in his first title opportunity, Mike Kizzar. Of course, the road to that match went straight through Dark Horizon
and a brutal match with Colt LeGalley, one that would put LeGalley on the shelf for 6 months with a herniated disc in his
neck.
At Mind Games VI, Ridgeway and Kizzar met once again, and once again in a ladder match. The two fought viciously,
and in the end, Ridgeway came out with the win, and his first singles gold. Of course, the next season, everything would change.
Kyle Andrews, tired of being part of a group, split from the Underground, effectively ending it as a force. Then, LeGalley
returned and took his revenge on Ridgeway, defeating him for the Hardcore title. Ridgeway would get another chance at gold
at Mind Games VII, taking on Pouncy for the United States Championship, but could not come away with the win. However, after
that showing and the events of his career, how long can Eric Ridgeway really be denied?
