Career
Highlights: Defeated Kirby, PG13 and Reggie Hutchings at Mind Games VI to become the second man to hold the United States
Championship and the Intercontinental Championship in his career.
Juan Valderaz started off his career as “The
Law” of the SWF, seeking out those who were doing wrong and putting them down. However, it was not as this character
but a slightly more crooked one that he would do his best work. At Mind Games III, Juan Valderaz faced Cole Oz for the United
States Championship. The feud would take him and Oz to places neither had known before, with Juan even going so far as to
vandalize Cole’s home.
Several years later, Juan Valderaz would win a title he didn’t even know he was
fighting for. At Mind Games VI, Juan faced PG13, Reggie Hutchings and Kirby in a fatal four way to open the show. No announcement
was made as to the stipulation until the following season, when it was revealed that the match had actually been for the newly
re-minted Intercontinental Championship. Juan had won, so he became only the second man in history to hold both titles, behind
Kevin Martin.
Juan may have mellowed out a bit since his lawman days, but he’s still a force in the ring, as
proven during his feud this last year with Jay Curry. The two had several matches over the Intercontinental Championship,
and while Curry came away ultimately victorious, Valderaz certainly didn’t make it easy for him.
At Mind Games
VII, Juan repeated history, as he once again found himself in a fatal four way to open the show. This time facing the rookies
Chris Ferrand, Alex Knight and Devlin Hunter, Juan proved yet again why he is such a mainstay in the SWF, as he pulled out
the victory, only to find out afterwards that the victory had bought him a shot at the title of his choosing at Chaos Theory
in the new season. Will he use that shot to continue his quest for Intercontinental glory, or do his sights rest a bit…
